This workshop covers the basics of hand embroidery, including foundational stitches, while making a custom journal cover, all by hand. An A5 journal is included with your class fee, along with all materials to create the cover.

Participants will learn embroidery basics and design a custom journal cover using stick-and-stitch designs. Each participant goes home with a started custom journal cover, finishing instructions, embroidery needles, a hoop, enough thread to finish the piece, and a simple A5 journal that fits perfectly inside the new cover.

About your instructor: Shannon Squire teaches craft classes around Portland (and beyond) ranging from weaving to embroidery to basket making to sewing. She's also an avid journaler and sketchbooker with a soft spot for pen and paper collecting.
