About This Workshop

This workshop covers the basics of hand embroidery, including some foundational stitches, while making a custom journal cover, all by hand. All materials are included, to make a cover for an A5 notebook (notebook not included).

What You'll Do & Take Home

Participants will learn the basics of embroidery, including best practices and tips and tricks from an obsessed stitcher. Everyone will have the opportunity to design a custom journal cover using stick-and-stitch designs, and we'll cover how to get started along with a smattering of basic stitches. Each participant will go home with a started custom journal cover, instructions on how to finish it either by hand or machine, embroidery needles, a hoop, and enough thread to finish their piece.

About your instructor: Shannon Squire teaches craft classes around Portland (and beyond) ranging from weaving to embroidery to basket making to sewing. She's also an avid journaler and sketchbooker with a soft spot for pen and paper collecting.
