“Eating around other people is a struggle for salaryman Yutaka, despite his talent for cooking. All that changes when he meets Minoru and Tane—two brothers, many years apart in age—who ask him to teach them how to make his delicious food! It’s not long before Yutaka finds himself falling hard for the meals they share together—and falling in love!”

Our Dining Table is a heartwarming one-off manga (with a new, upcoming sequel series!) about a tired salaryman unexpectedly using food as a way to form connections he’s never experienced, including love. As readers, we also get the opportunity to learn about foods we may not have heard of before! This manga explores various forms of grief, relationships with food, and the risks we take to nurture love in our life.

Meet your facilitator:

Hi! My name is V (they/them) and, unsurprisingly, I love manga and anime! I grew up watching shows like Pokemon and Cardcaptor Sakura, or movies like Princess Mononoke. But my love for manga started in early middle school when I accidentally picked up Absolute Boyfriend in a Borders - I was hooked for life. While I enjoy a wide variety of stories and genres, I typically lean towards romance, BL/GL, slice-of-life, and sports. What it boils down to is loving stories that center connection, finding yourself, and hopefully finding community along the way.

While this first meeting will be BL-focused, I’m also open to widening the selections to romance in general. Let’s chat about that AND this beautiful story at our first manga club meeting together!
